About My Clients
I provide psychotherapy to adults who face depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, LGBTQ+ issues, and relationship challenges. I also specialize in serving new, expecting, and hopeful parents. This includes anyone experiencing challenges related to pregnancy, postpartum, infertility and loss, and adoption.
My Background and Approach
I have been practicing individual and family psychotherapy since 2007 and earned my Masters in Social Work with Honors from the Hunter College School of Social Work in New York. I also worked in the arts for over 15 years before I became a therapist, and earned an MFA in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. I have extensive training and experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy, perinatal mental health, internal family systems, somatic experiencing, and trauma-informed therapy. I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and am honored to be part of your journey toward peace and vitality. I use sensitivity, creativity, and humor to help you achieve peace, freedom, and fulfillment – on your own terms. You are the expert on you. Together we will assess your concerns and establish a plan to meet your needs, building on your internal wisdom and power.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an abolitionist social worker, I am deeply committed to empowering marginalized communities and dismantling systems of oppression, white supremacy, and patriarchy. My approach is warm, interactive, practical, and empathic, and I draw from relational, feminist, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and LGBTQ+-affirming treatment models. I am a passionate advocate for the right to reproductive choice – without exception. I also volunteer my time and energy to advocacy work related to maternal mental health and social justice, particularly in Georgia, where I currently live. This past year, I launched a new program that offers fully funded mental health care to moms & parents in Georgia who are unable to access needed care.
