People say "relax" and "don't think about it", but you can't stop the thoughts circling through your head. You may dread "down time" as this lack of distraction guarantees your brain to grow loud with thoughts, worries and fears. You even feel it in your stomach, or your shoulders, or your head. Anxiety is a whole-body experience. We provide evidence-based techniques to help you anticipate, prevent and process through your anxiety so you can rest easier, literally, and figuratively.

We provide support for those struggling with body image and with food. Whether you experience urges to restrict calories, use over-exercising or other strategies to over-compensate for calories eaten, or struggle with feelings of guilt and shame around loss of control eating, at Bricolage, we believe a healthy relationship with your body and with food is possible for everyone. As a (HAES) aligned practice, we understand that scale numbers are not inherently reflective of a person's health.

We provide support for birthing persons in all stages of parenthood, whether you are experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety, struggling with the identity shift of parenthood, or feeling overwhelmed by the multitude of responsibilities and tasks of parenting. We will provide support as you navigate through the constantly evolving roles you play.

Identifying emotional experiences that seem intolerable helps clients understand the reasons for impulsivity or reactivity. When clients learn they can tolerate the discomfort of these emotion states, they respond with less impulsivity and more tolerance. Think, "I observe my emotion states around me as I'm floating down a stream; when they become overwhelming, I climb out of the stream and they go on."

Identifying mistaken beliefs and automatic thoughts. This methodology encourages people to acknowledge when a thought does not serve them, and challenge that thought. Think, "I challenge my mistaken beliefs as a salmon swims upstream."

I understand and anticipate the sometimes unsettling nature of my thoughts; in so doing, I am able to accept the fact that I have unpleasant thoughts and feeling states without becoming those thoughts or emotion states, knowing they don't necessarily represent truth. Think, "I am floating downstream and notice my unpleasant thoughts and feelings all around me; I decide to continue floating down the stream with these unpleasant thoughts, knowing that I am separate from my thoughts and emotions."
