About My Clients
If you’ve been finding yourself stuck in old patterns that you cannot change, perhaps struggling with feelings of inadequacy or fear of failure, you’ve come to the right place. I work with older adolescents and young adults who often struggle with these themes, or need general support navigating stress, relationships, and life transitions. Additionally, I specialize in working with athletes and performing artists, especially those struggling with anxiety, injury, and body image.
My Background and Approach
My training in mental health counseling and sport psychology has prepared me to understand the unique mental and emotional strains that come alongside athletic, professional, or creative pursuits. I strive to support my clients as they work towards their personal or athletic goals while helping them find balance and meaning in their lives. Clinically, I have focused my training on the treatment of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and PTSD. Many of my clients struggle with deep beliefs that they don't belong, are not good enough, or that they must hide parts of themselves to prevent others from truly getting to know them. Through approaches like psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, I work to help clients identify and heal these core beliefs. I incorporate mindfulness training and self-compassion to help individuals reconnect with and accept the most authentic and true versions of themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
First and foremost, I believe that all human beings are deserving of love and connection, and that all humans deserve access to care for their mental and physical health. A foundation in my approach to working with any client is to honor their history, identities, and life experiences that have led them to this point. I work from a place of cultural humility, continually reflecting on my own identities and privilege and honoring and learning from the identities and cultures of others. Embedded in this practice is a belief that every person, deep down, has a sense of what they need to heal and flourish. I feel that it is a privilege to sit with clients each day, bear witness to their pain and their triumphs, and to help them feel more secure as the authentic versions of themselves.
