About My Clients
My clients are adults who are exhausted from living inside their own heads. They're stuck in loops of intrusive thoughts, "what ifs," compulsions, panic, or avoidance, and they're done just coping. They want to actually change how they respond to fear, not just talk about it. Most have tried therapy before and felt like something was missing. I specialize in ERP for OCD and anxiety, which means I know exactly what's keeping them stuck and how to help them get unstuck.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 15 years of experience specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders. I trained in specialized OCD programs early in my career and have spent years doing this work specifically, not as one concern among many. I founded Beautiful Minds Therapy & Consulting, LLC because I wanted to offer adults something that's genuinely hard to find: a therapist who knows OCD and anxiety inside and out, works at a real pace, and doesn't treat ERP like a last resort. My approach is structured but human. We use ERP, CBT, and ACT to actually change how you respond to fear, not just talk about why it's there. I'm direct, I'll push you when it's time, and I'll also tell you when you're being harder on yourself than the work requires. The goal is for you to need me less over time, not more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I got into this work because OCD and anxiety are genuinely misunderstood, even by clinicians, and that gap costs people years of their lives. I believe good therapy is specific, honest, and doesn't dress up avoidance as self-care. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and create a space where all clients can show up as their full selves without having to explain or justify who they are before we get to the actual work. Outside of sessions I'm interested in true crime, psychology, and finding any excuse to be near water when Wisconsin isn't actively trying to freeze me. I care deeply about reducing the stigma around OCD specifically, because it's still the disorder most likely to be misdiagnosed, minimized, or treated with the wrong approach entirely. I'm also passionate about making sure people know what evidence-based OCD treatment actually looks like, so they can tell the difference between a therapist who knows ERP and one who's just heard of it.
