My Background and Approach

I believe therapy works best when it's grounded in trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to your goals, because no two people or life stories are the same. I draw on evidence-based methods—cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, strengths-based practice, and harm reduction for substance use—to help you build practical skills that support lasting change. I work with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, substance use and addiction, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Together, we'll clarify your goals, build on your strengths, and develop strategies to strengthen emotional well-being and create a more meaningful life. My services are provided under the clinical supervision of Dr. Scott Emerson Lloyd, PhD, a New York licensed psychologist (License No. 021247). Every session emphasizes practical tools, compassion, and steady progress together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe every person deserves dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of background, identity, or life experience. I'm committed to an affirming, culturally responsive, LGBTQ-friendly space where clients can feel safe to be their authentic selves. As an ally and advocate for the LGBTQIA2+ community, I welcome individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. I practice from a harm reduction perspective and meet people where they are, recognizing that healing and recovery look different for everyone. My work is guided by empathy, curiosity, social justice, and a belief in each person's capacity for growth, and by a commitment to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use. I also value honesty, collaboration, and lifelong learning, believing that every client is the expert on their own life. My role is to provide support, evidence-based guidance, and a safe place to explore challenges, celebrate progress and build hope for the future.
