About My Clients
I find those that are looking for a safe space to talk and are insight-oriented are those that I most able to help as they work towards becoming their authentic selves. I enjoy helping people find their voice, increase self-compassion, and are looking to confront what is difficult with some positive support.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2013 with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked residential treatment, detox, community mental health, as well as a university counselor in addition to home-based and outpatient. I have been trained in internal family systems (IFS), as well as several trauma models, and Gottman couples counseling. I look to help individuals, and couples find their strengths, develop skills, and challenge themselves to grow in a safe and supportive space. I draw from several theories and approaches to help meet a person where they are, and find the strategies and concepts to help achieve the goals of real, lasting change looking for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a counselor because I believe people can heal and grow. I know that change can he hard and scary at times, though I also have seen where having a safe space, room to be oneself, and a place to explore are ingredients for helping a person become who they truly are and want to be.
