About My Clients

My clients are often learning to balance life with depression, anxiety, stress, or trauma, body image issues, and self-worth. I frequently work with clients with LGBTQIA identies, disabilities, chronic illnesses, and/or neurodivergent struggles. I use a holistic lens to co-create treatment goals based on your needs . I enjoy working with people who want to build self-awareness, understand their mental health and feel more in control of how they react to and deal with everyday life.

My Background and Approach

I focus on strenghts-based techniques to help you build tools that work for you. I always want my clients to feel supported and like they have coping skills that they can fit into their daily life to make existing more manageable. To help you do this, I will often introduce new coping skills or encourage you to build on ones you may already have. My priority is helping you feel safe enough to grow. This means that you can expect me to create a warm and validating environment for our sessions and that I will also gently challenge unhelpful patterns I notice in order to help you build more supportive habits. I use a relational lens to therapy which emphasizes the importance of the relationships we form with our friends, partners, family, the world around us, and most importantly, ourselves. We will spend time examing your narratives about yourself and how they are helping or hurting you in order to help you exist from a place of empowerment rather than feeling beaten down by life

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every human deserves access to comprehensive medical and mental health care. I practice feminist theory and liberation psychology which are based on the beliefs that everyone deserve truly equal rights including fair pay, civil rights, marriage equality, healthcare, disability services and social and political justice regardless of citizenship status, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability status, race, religion, or country of origin. My belief system is also based on the knowledge that systems of privilege and oppression and generational and historical trauma exist and affect all of us in different ways and to varying degrees. I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community, am neurodivergent, invisibly disabled, and have lived experience with poverty, marginalization, chronic stress, burnout, self-esteem issues, religious trauma, and domestic violence.
