Throughout grad school and since I have been deeply engaged with the unconscious. I studied Depth psychology and particularly Carl Jung for many years. I have also been a client of Depth therapy off and on for many years. I am fascinated with how developing engagement with unconscious content can teach us so much about our lives and through that help us find meaning and transform us.
A lot my grad school coursework was based on somatic practices. I also, have a Hakomi Level 1 certification. My masters thesis was on The Implications of Reiki Integrated Psychotherapy. I have taken many seminars in mindfulness and have a certification from John F. Kennedy University in Buddhist Psychology.
I have a Masters of Arts in Holistic Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.
Self-esteem is such a common issue. So many people have come to my office complaining of other issues and end up having challenges with self-esteem. People often get down on themselves because they lack self compassion, have a had time seeing the positives in their lives, have a lot of negative self talk, or internalized negativity from others. Self-esteem can improve through mindfulness, meditative practices, working with core material and changing core beliefs.
I have helped countless children and their families overcome a wide range of issues. The family has to be a part of this process, as the hope is that therapy continues outside of sessions and into the homes and school.
Anxiety and fear seem to be at the core of most distress, therefore it is very common. I have helped many people overcome their anxiety in many different ways. Each person is unique so I work differently with each person. Usually, the biggest thing here is bringing more ease to the body and calming down the nervous system.
Anxiety is common. I have helped many people overcome anxieties and/or become less anxious, through helping calm the nervous system and improving how people think about themselves and the world.
