About My Clients
Have you always had difficulty being yourself around the people closest to you? Have you always questioned your place in the church? Have you been betrayed by the church in any way? Maybe you have questions about your own faith and spirituality, but have not found that safe space to talk about these legit questions. I specialize in providing a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to talk freely about these questions and concerns we all have.
My Background and Approach
As a holistic therapist, I use approaches that help deal with the mind, body, and spirit. I believe this is when we are best able to connect with ourselves and God. I work collaboratively with my clients to create the best treatment plans that fit their own wants, needs, and desires. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Pembroke. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I draw from several different counseling theories including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and the Polyvagal Theory. I strive to be individual and intersectional in my approach with helping clients towards their goals. I find that an eclectic style often works best and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves to be loved and appreciated for who they are. Growing up as a Christian, I did not feel like I could be my true, authentic self in the church. I did not feel I could ask questions about God or the Bible that may have conflicted with my own beliefs. Because of this, I lived a lot of my life very insecure and unsure of who I was. This led to a lot of mental health struggles including depression and social anxiety. I believe it is my true passion in life to help others who may be struggling with their own faith to discover more about who they are and learn to love themselves and others the way that Jesus truly taught.
