About My Clients
I work with women and LGBTQ+ adults and couples who are craving deeper connections and a sense of purpose. I am gender-affirming, sex-positive, and social justice-oriented. My approach is relational, leveraging the therapeutic relationship to support stronger relationships in our everyday lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received a Master of Social Work degree from the Silberman School of Social Work in New York City. I am credentialed in New York, Maine, and Tennessee. My approach is relational. I see the therapeutic relationship as a tool for understanding how we relate to others outside of the therapy room. I believe relationships and community are not only critical to our survival but also essential for meaningful engagement with our lives. Loneliness is linked to a myriad of health concerns, both physical and mental. I am invested in helping my clients improve their relationships and their lives. Outside of the therapy room, I am a training facilitator and career coach. Many of us spend a third or more of our lives at work. I help people examine their relationship to work, their roles as workers, and the impact of work on other aspects of their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer, white, cisgender female psychotherapist and clinical social worker. I believe in the importance of positionality and intersectionality. I provide gender-affirming, social justice-oriented, sex-positive, and body-positive therapeutic services to women and LGBTQ+ adult individuals and couples. As a social worker, I believe our wellness is impacted by experiences of systemic oppression and minority stress. For this reason, my treatment course is not centered on mental health diagnosis. Instead, I use a liberation health model that views your mental health concerns in the context of your relationship, your community, and our society. I value a connection to nature. My work emphasizes a holistic approach to wellness, which includes movement appropriate to one's ability and, if possible, nutrient-rich eating. I believe in the importance of relationships and community.
