About My Clients
If you're looking for a space to heal from past trauma, work on attachment wounds, and/or manage day-to-day stress, let's meet. The space we create together will be rooted in your own goals and the idea that you are the expert in your own life. Our sessions will be laid back, affirming and I utilize a direct, but warm approach.
My Background and Approach
My specialties include complex trauma work, attachment wounds and identity work. I come from a social work perspective, considering all systemic issues that may be impacting your daily living. Therapy modes I utilize include EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, and IFS/parts work with particular focus on using somatic and experiential models to process trauma. My goal is to provide tools to regulate your body and mind, and a safe space to process and share.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our world creates disparities for marginalized groups which creates hostile, dangerous environments. Therapy should not feel like one of these environments. I believe it is important for your providers to align with your needs, and to seek equity and justice for the systemic issues that impact us. I have experienced a great amount of my own trauma throughout my life, which has lead me to this line of work. Never feel shame bringing your own past into our sessions, as I've been there too. I understand that starting this process is overwhelming, so don't hesitate to ask any questions. I have three cats, one of which will always be peeking in and out of our sessions. I enjoy video games, being in nature, and watching trashy reality TV. I have ADHD, so during our sessions I will more than likely be writing things down and fidgeting with putty. You're welcome to bring your comfort items into sessions :)
