About My Clients
My ideal clients are men who are functioning well on the outside but feeling tense, stuck, or caught in patterns they can't seem to break. They're self-aware enough to know something's off and honest enough to want to change it. They're not looking for endless venting — they want real progress. Some have never tried therapy before. What they share is a quiet readiness to do something different. That's all I need to get started.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Nashville-based therapist and the founder of Hanks Therapy Co., specializing in therapy for men, anxiety, burnout, emotional regulation, and couples work. I hold a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Lipscomb University with High Clinical Honors and bring nearly a decade of critical care nursing into the room with me — which means I stay calm, present, and focused when things are hard. My approach is direct and structured without being rigid. I draw from CBT, EFT, Gottman Method, IFS, Narrative, Solution Focused, and Attachment-based frameworks — but sessions aren't run from a script. We identify the patterns underneath, build practical tools, and track real progress. Insight matters, but change happens when what we work on starts showing up in your daily life. I offer a free 15-minute consultation. Reach out and we'll see if it's a good fit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe men are more resilient than they're often given credit for — and more willing to do hard work when the space feels right. Most of us have learned to keep moving even when things feel heavy. That strength is real, but it has limits. Therapy, to me, is where you put some of it down. I don't see people as problems to fix. I see people who are trying to live honestly and need a steady place to figure out what that looks like. That's what I'm trying to build here.
