About My Clients

Do you sometimes wish parts of you didn't exist? Do you have a tough inner critic? Is there a part of you that you struggle to understand or are ashamed of? I welcome all of the sensitive, weird, and messy parts that you hold and will walk with you through the wilds of your life. I believe that everyone is capable of changing the stories they tell, and that doing so can bring relief and help people find connection with themselves and others.

My Background and Approach

I am currently a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #150612 under the licensed supervision of Elysha Martinez LMFT #93493 at Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health in Oakland, CA. I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA in 2024 and completed my practicum at Pacific Center for Human Growth in Berkeley, CA, an organization providing mental health services to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I often incorporate Narrative and parts-work/IFS in my work with clients, while also bringing in emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and attachment theory. In our work together, we'll explore what has worked for you, what hasn't worked for you, and how we can best incorporate approaches to meet your needs and help you find relief, build connection, and improve boundaries. I have undertaken and continue to undertake training in Narrative, parts-work/IFS, and trauma work to better serve those I work with.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My own identities inform my approach to social justice and community both in and out of the therapy room. An artist and an activist at heart, I am experienced in weaving and making meaning of the stories we are living and their social contexts. I continue my own identity work, especially as a white therapist, to ensure I minimize harm perpetrated in both personal and professional spaces. I come from an anti-oppression, anti-carceral, harm-reduction perspective and recognize that neutrality favors the oppressor. I also recognize that therapy is not a cure for capitalism and its negative effects on both individuals and the communities we are a part of, but having experienced relief in my own personal therapy, I want to extend that experience to others as well.
