About My Clients
I enjoy working with folks who are ready to make changes in their lives, while expanding what they believe they can accomplish. I feel fulfilled by working with LGBTQ+ clients, and conditions including OCD, trauma, complex anxiety, and clients with past incarcerations. I am passionate about collaborative integrative treatment! I am here to help you build up your skill set to handle life transitions, live a better quality of life, and feel fulfilled through making meaning in their daily lives.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working individually with a variety of clients, children to adults, with the majority of my time with adults. I have run skill groups and for OCD, complex anxiety, and treatment & process groups for sex offenders. My interventions vary based on client need and can range from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Existential, and always multicultural. I have extensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and a variety of other modalities that I utilize to best serve my clients. I enjoy continuously learning the latest research and interventions to ensure my client needs are met. I am a therapist who has been in the client chair, to process my own grief, and this has been my inspiration to continue diversifying my therapeutic skill set. It is important to me that treatment fits the client, not the other way around.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a member of the queer community, and have been out for the majority of my life. When attending my undergraduate degree from Alverno College, an All Women's College, I started to better understand gender, and how the personal, especially for women, is political. This led me to not only adopt a lens of intersectionality, and raise my awareness of diverse experiences- it also led me to become active in BLM protests, and I have been active in Civil disobedience opportunities ever since. I deeply enjoy community organizing, and often collaborate with local grassroots organizations to facilitate discourse, organizing for protests, community drives, and coordinating resources to better serve my community. I am an active member in Women's Rights Organizations, and I am working toward becoming active in additional community organizations. I also enjoy donating blood consistently!
