About My Clients
The clients that I work with are children and adolescents, young adults and adults and couples and families. I work with clients who are neurodivergent and trying to understand themselves. I work with clients who struggle to manage their emotions and feelings and struggle with anxiety and depression. I like to help them with learning coping skills that they can use when they are struggling with anxiety. I like to create a safe space for my clients.
My Background and Approach
The approach that I like to use is a humanistic approach mixed with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I can adjust my approach depending on the client that I'm working with. My background is that I am neurodivergent myself and being able to connect with my clients that struggle with similar problems has helped me connect with my clients. I have found that when I call out the elephant in the room, it seems to break the ice, give them something to relate to, and make the conversation more streamlined.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When it comes to my beliefs and values I would like to say that I believe that if you are willing to make the change and put in the work you can change. I also feel that anyone can come to therapy and walk away with something that might have helped them in some way. I have found that working with a diverse range of clients I have found working with veterans has been an interesting area and population to work with. Some of them have come home from the military and have lost their voice in some way, and I have found that just listening and supporting them in their moments has helped give them their confidence and voice back. I also like to incorporate neuroscience and bring awareness to the brain and how it works. When it comes to some disorders, it helps teach the client where it might be coming from. I like to give my clients a safe place for them to come and share who they are without judgment.
