About My Clients
I work with clients demonstrating a range of mental health concerns, including: anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, mood and personality disorders, life transitions and stress. My preference of clients is not limited to their race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation, but their devotion to their own mental well being.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in mindfulness, cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapy to challenge irrational/negative thoughts and beliefs that causes clients distress in their everyday lives. Growing up, I was told that the psychology/counseling field was not for African American men, due to the lack of African American men that apply for positions in such fields. However, I wish to challenge this stereotype as well as many others and invite anyone, regardless of their race and/or gender to reach out for psychological services if needed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that at some point, every person is susceptible to some form of mental illness and/or distress. Experiencing such things does not make someone weak or inadequate, it only makes them human. I believe that sometimes, our biggest enemy, is ourselves.
