About My Clients

Are you finding yourself caught in a loop with your partner, struggling in your cycle of missing each other and finding frustration and pain instead of the love and understanding you seek? Or are you a parent struggling to connect with your children or meet their needs as they act out it ways you don't understand or maybe your child is hurting and you don't know how to help? Maybe you're dealing with your own challenges and looking for someone to partner with you in untangling the knots.

My Background and Approach

My approach starts with respecting each person’s story and perspective and builds toward constructing something together from there. I value engaging people holistically in the process of healing, creating meaning, pursuing goals, and seeking resolution. I use a mix of approaches that engage people as relational beings who experience thoughts and emotions and try to make sense of it all in a whole variety of contexts. Some of those approaches are Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. I'm currently a graduate student at George Fox University in my year of clinical internship and working under the supervision of a licensed therapist who lends me her years of experience and insight to benefit the quality of my work, and I have a background in spirituality and in social work engaging parents, teens, and families in making meaningful life changes.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the absolute value of every person regardless of anything that distinguishes us. I believe in the capacity for growing in ability to live in sync with that value and beauty. I believe fear is at the root of all suffering and shortcomings and harmful behavior and that love and trust are powerful enough to soothe that fear and build something beautiful if given the chance. I believe we each are whole within our own minds, bodies, and spirits without relying on others to fix us or declare us worthy, but I also believe we are inseparable from each and every other person and who we are impacts others and what we do and say has tangible effects on the rest of humanity in an unseen dance. Relationships, whether between different parts of our own selves, between family and friends, or between us and society are the core of what it means to be human. We are created for connection, and my role is to support you in integrating the diversity of your life into something meaningful.
