I believe in the importance of meeting someone where they are and being non-judgmental. I believe in exploring and utilizing one’s strengths to use as building blocks for their own personal growth, and being solution-focused in addressing the issues that arise which hold us back from living a more fulfilling life. Therapy is taking steps in becoming a better version of yourself!
My Background and Approach
My passion for therapy not only comes from my own personal life experiences, but also from being in various positions throughout life in which I found myself helping others and loving it. I have past experience as a youth program director for middle school and high school students for seven years, mentoring and counseling teens in a ministry setting, and then went on to work with adults in substance abuse and mental health treatment as a primary therapist for five years. The thing I love most about therapy is watching the progress that people make in their lives while working with them. Specific therapy modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
