My Background and Approach
I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach in therapy with some mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy sprinkled in. I like to incorporate traditional talk therapy with art, mindfulness, and body awareness. I work to frame each session with unconditional positive regard. This allows hope and a positive therapeutic relationship to grow and flourish. As a native Mississippian, I try to pull from my roots of southern hospitality with a relaxed, comforting style. I started working in mental health in 2007 and have worked in community mental health centers, public schools, and private practice. I work with all ages (children, adolescents, and adults) in either individual or family sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe most people could benefit from the support of a nurturing, therapeutic environment. I’ve never met anyone who has said that they have too much support in their life. I would be honored if you decide to allow me into your life, and we can work toward developing the support that you need.
