About My Clients
Are you an over-achiever who takes care of others yet neglects your own needs and desires? Do you feel you aren't enough, despite trying your hardest? My ideal client is a life-long loearner and wants to be in therapy because they prioritizes self-growth & self-development. Clients that I work with see therapy as a means to maintain the progress they've made in life & they utilize the therapeutic space to devote time to their self-improvement.
My Background and Approach
We cannot run from ourselves without great cost. If experience in mental health counseling has taught us one thing, it is our need to be honest with ourselves & to spend time in self-reflection. We all have aspects in us that are dark, shameful, or embarrassing, & they would be frowned upon by society if they were known & revealed (or so we think). Yet, we do great damage by refusing to acknowledge these fragments of our mental health & psychological lives. The therapist at Holistic Health & Counseling specializes in a holistic approach to mental health. A holistic approach means to provide support that explores & develops the whole person, not just their mental health needs. The holistic counseling support that we provide for both individual clients and couples, considers their physical, emotional, social, sexual, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing. Therapist is accepting new clients as of December 2021. Sessions are available Mondays-Thursdays from 10:00am-8:00pm.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There is no greater honor for me than to have the opportunity to support my clients in our confidential therapy sessions. I learn as much from my clients as they learn from me. I am here to support you in self-growth & development, and in uncovering resources to help you be your best self. I believe that clients should be aware that along with the many benefits of counseling, come risks. Since counseling often involves discussing unpleasant or uncomfortable aspects of your life, you may experience feelings such as sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, shame, and even helplessness. Counseling allows you to process your feelings and often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and relief from feelings of distress. There are no guarantees of what you will experience. In order for you to achieve the most benefit from counseling, you will have to be engaged in your therapy sessions, committed, and sometimes you will need to do work outside of therapy.
