Hello! My name is Dr. Bonnie Kester. Feel free to call me Bonnie.

About My Clients

I enjoy working with folx from all walks of life, who present with a wide variety of struggles and triumphs. I have a passion, however, for working with clients exploring their gender and sexuality. Whether this be working with folx who identify as transgender and queer, navigating our oftentimes harmful societal pressures; or cisgender straight men, exploring what it means to be a man; I am happy to explore with you the complexity of all forms of identity.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to supporting you in whatever path takes you to the most genuine, whole form of yourself. Throughout my life and career, I’ve been deeply committed to supporting people whose voices have too often gone unheard. I specialize in working with folx wanting to explore who they are, how they carry their past, and what they seek in the future. Whether this be intersecting identities, developmental trauma, body image, sexuality, religious trauma, relationship values, or life goals, I am so excited to help you work towards the life you've been seeking. My main approaches to this work include integrating holistic and relational approaches to psychotherapy, social justice-informed, strengths-based, and trauma-informed interventions. I don't believe that psychotherapy has to be serious all the time, as utilizing humor can be a great tool to help make the harder topics more accessible and safer.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, empowerment, and a strong belief that every person deserves care that affirms their identity and honors their experiences — no matter how big or small they may seem. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals, survivors of complex / developmental trauma (C-PTSD), working with couples where one partner recently came out as trans, and anyone navigating the complexities of relationships, identity, or self-worth. Whether you're exploring your gender or sexuality, processing past trauma, or simply trying to make sense of life’s challenges, I offer a space where we can move at your pace — with humor, gentleness, and depth. My practice integrates relational and holistic approaches with trauma-informed, strengths-based care, and I'm especially passionate about creating room for healing, growth, and joy. I believe all human beings are deserving of respect, open-mindedness, and equity.
