About My Clients
I work with adults and especially older adults navigating illness, grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I actively lean into the tough conversations about finding meaning and purpose in spite of changing cognitive and physical needs, supporting caregivers whose work is sometimes ignored, and normalizing grief and mourning. My Background and Approach
I have 10+ years of experience in medical social work and helping others navigating a range of illnesses, grieving, and general aging. I have advanced certificates and training in hospice and palliative care, oncology, and advance care planning. I regularly weave this experience into individual therapy sessions for deeper meaning and transformation that easily connects to your current and lived experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to the values and ethics of the social worker profession and strive to create a therapy practice that is inclusive to all, especially marginalized groups. I identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and actively work towards supporting the unique needs of LGBTQ+ older adults. I strive to continue to grow in my knowledge, acceptance, and welcoming energy daily. I believe in reducing barriers for therapy as much as I can and proudly offer in-home visits for those living in or near Englewood, Colorado who have a difficult time getting out and about. When I'm not providing counseling or working as a palliative care social worker, I'm usually camping, hiking, or tending to a small homestead in Boulder County that will soon offer nature-based and animal assisted therapies.
