About My Clients

I work well with clients who are ready to heal past attachment wounds, who have felt/feel unseen or unheard, who have deeply felt emotions that need a place to be acknowledged and valued. I believe healing comes through acceptance and love for all of our parts, and so I work with my clients to create a welcoming space for wholeness. I offer somatic and EMDR-based tools to process what is stuck, and to create more ease and comfort for your nervous system as you heal.

My Background and Approach

The tools I will share with you have been gained from almost 20 years as a therapist and work with a broad range of clients. I am a certified EMDR therapist, and find that tending to past wounds, while supporting present healing through insight-oriented therapy, somatic approaches, IFS and nervous system regulation help my clients feel better quickly. My goal when working with new clients is to create a safe, nurturing space for you to explore your emotions without judgment. I love sharing a cup of tea with my clients as we get into the hard work of therapy. I provide self-soothing tools, tailored to the needs of your nervous system. These are to use throughout the week to stay grounded in the present, so that you can get down to the important business of living your life, while also knowing you are tending to your healing in our work together. I believe therapy should feel accessible and grounded. You can trust that I’m here to help, no matter where you’re at.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy is about you. I deeply value how your unique experiences, culture, and community shape who you are—and that understanding is central to the work we do together. I believe that our formative experiences and sense of self are not held in a vacuum, and I work with my clients to understand how systems- be it family, culture, or larger systems of oppression have influenced how they see themselves in the world. What do you truly identify with, and what no longer serves you? Through my own experience and through many years of working with clients, I firmly believe that the path to healing involves radical acceptance and self-compassion. When we can see and feel ourselves as whole, including the parts that we struggle with, we can begin to create new ways to care for ourselves and shift our systems through attentive exploration and skill building. I believe we all have within us everything we need to heal.
