About My Clients
Please consider checking out my flexible low-fee availability for telehealth sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays! Accessibility of quality mental health care is important to me, and I aim to offer an online telehealth therapeutic space for couples and individuals to be seen, where thoughts you may have been avoiding are heard and vulnerable feelings are felt. Where all thoughts and feelings, even partially formed or tentatively felt ones, are heard and acknowledged.
My Background and Approach
I have had the wonderful opporunity to train in the evidence based Emotionally Focused Therapy approach under the supervision of Jennine Estes Powell, where among many things I've learned to help clients navigate relational choices in high conflict relationships as well as working to address attachment injuries in couples. As a practicum placement at the Veteran’s Village of San Diego I conducted intake assessments, individual and couples counseling sessions with veterans struggling with co-occurring mental health diagnoses especially trauma, problematic substance use, and homelessness. During graduate school, I also had the opportunity to join the team facilitating the Fostering Hope support group, which aimed to provide a safe space for couples dealing with infertility looking to adopt or foster through San Diego County; an opportunity that led to our team co-authoring a counselor education book chapter on the subject.
