Accepting Clients

About My Clients

My clients value relationship and the support I provide. My clients are young adults who are coming of age, folks in their self-discovery process, whether that be sexuality or gender identity, individuals of all ages on the life span who are learning to be more mindful and self-aware, are working through family of origin issues, earning secure attachment, finding and holding healthy boundaries, who need a safe space to unburden, and so much more.

My Background and Approach

My approach is relational and client centered. My style is collaborative, conversational, and experiential. I listen deeply and attune to you. I mirror back and offer empathic reflection so you are able to connect to your feelings, needs, truths, longings, desires, inspiration, and power. When we are seen and heard, when we are gotten and feel felt, there is greater potency for healing and transformation. I allow space for emergence in our sessions. I turn toward what arises in the present moment with curiosity and openness for exploration. When we “go live” and work with what arises in the present moment, there is increased potential for re-wiring our brains. Therapy provides an opportunity to heal the past in the present so we can write a new future for our lives. Therapy is a collaboration, an experience that is co-created. I am open to requests to ensure your therapeutic needs are met.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a yoga practice that spans over a decade and a half – I am both a student and a certified teacher. I trained in the Anusara method, a style of yoga rooted in non-dual Tantric philosophy and that is alignment based, heart expansive, and life affirming. I have a decade of practice in non-violent communication (NVC), the language of feelings and needs. One of the foundational principles of the NVC consciousness is to hold others in unconditional positive regard. I bring this consciousness forward into my life and into my psychotherapy practice. Notable influences are Tara Brach, Pema Chödrön, Thomas Huebl, and my beloved yoga teachers. I volunteered for five years with Sierra Club's Seattle Inner City Outings as team lead and outings leader for middle school youth. One of my most important relationships is with nature. One of my yearly traditions is to retreat for a week (or longer) alone in the woods.

I have experience with the following
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
  • Wicca/Paganism
