About My Clients
Understanding the relationship you have with the challenges in your life is key to moving forward. Whether it’s depression that keeps you stuck in bed, anxiety that erodes your confidence, or shame that disrupts your relationships, I work with you to explore how these issues show up in your life. Sometimes, these problems are also shaped by larger societal forces—expectations around success, the pressure of achieving certain milestones, or ideals about who you “should” be.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in the narrative worldview, a collaborative, open, transparent approach that explores how some problems are also shaped by larger societal forces—expectations around success, the pressure of achieving certain milestones, or ideals about who you “should” be. These external narratives can make it hard to live authentically. I also integrate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help us address the challenges you’re facing. My experience spans a wide range of areas, including depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and relationship conflict.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about working with the Asian/Asian American community in Boston. My position and racial identity give me a unique opportunity to help bridge the gap in access to quality mental health care. I have significant experience working with young adults and youth in both public education and therapeutic settings. My areas of expertise include mood-related and anxiety disorders, trauma, life transitions, familial conflict, and substance use issues
