I draw from cognitive, somatic, and positive psychological approaches when working with anxiety. We will focus first on strategies to help you feel more in control of your present symptoms and struggles. We can then turn to working with underlying concerns to help you feel confident that real change is happening.

I collaborate with clients to learn practical strategies to make life less overwhelming and take advantage of strengths they possess with their neurodivergent brains. I also teach self-compassion skills and utilize mindfulness-based approaches to help clients manage ADHD symptoms.

Do you have difficulty asking for help and put off seeking treatment even though you've been depressed for several years? Are you not really sure where to start or what to talk about? Most people find it difficult to motivate themselves which can create guilt and shame. They struggle to find happiness and get "weighed down" by the world almost all the time. When this happens, people start to feel uncertain, afraid, and not able to trust their own judgement. This can lead to low self-esteem.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us to understand some of the relationships between our thoughts and our actions. As we use this lens in therapy, we'll be exploring some of the underlying assumptions or beliefs that contribute to your thoughts and actions. As we explore, we may find that deeply held beliefs may be out-of-date, unrealistic, and limiting how you're going about your day-to-day life. When we find those beliefs, we can work to explore other ways of thinking and new actions to take.

Regrets and worries can stall our growth in life. Rooting our experience in the present is our only means of connection with ourselves and the world. Knowing our current thoughts and feelings as we experience them. I have studied MBCT, a proven method for the successful treatment of symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. I can assist you in learning different forms of Meditation, Yoga, Breathing Exercises, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, and Body Scanning.

I have over 30 years of experience and training in many approaches addressing addiction, so therapy is designed for the individual. I, also, have 30 years of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction which gives me unique insights into the solutions to problems encountered during therapy.
