My Background and Approach
My background and experience include working with people who are dealing with severe mental illness as well as clients who are struggling with the day-to-day life challenges that are common to us all. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, first listening, understanding, and building a strong relationship. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and EMDR, with elements of other approaches including DBT.
