Fact: I became a psychotherapist following a decades-long business career.
My approach is relational and integrative, trauma-informed, goal-oriented, combining talk therapy, CBT tools, somatic (body) awareness and meditation to access mindfulness, presence and focus.
We often cycle through thoughts in our heads, yet cut ourselves off from the felt sense in our bodies. When we permit ourselves to slow down, to witness our thoughts and physical responses to the issues causing pain and suffering, healing is possible and sustainable. Towards this end, I participate in ongoing training in an intervention known as Somatic Experiencing (SE).
I work to help others recognize their unique strengths and resilience. My own strength is in my ability to connect in a supportive, nurturing, non-judgmental manner. I will 'sit alongside' my clients to help confront the thoughts and behaviors holding them back from achieving their therapeutic goals. I am a LMSW licensed in NY and NJ.
