About My Clients
We might be a good fit if: You feel like you’re losing yourself in your relationship The anxiety you’re feeling and the constant worrying you’re doing is starting to affect other parts of your life You spend more of your time pleasing others, rather than tending to your own wants and needs Your work-life balance is out of sync and other areas (your health, relationships) are suffering Someone has told you that you are codependent You’re the go-to girl, doing everything for everybody
My Background and Approach
I have extensive training and experience (both personally and professionally) with anxiety and stress-related disorders. My approach to therapy is mindfulness-based. I use modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Our time together can be short and solution-focused, or much longer depending on the nature of your concerns and your progress in therapy. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.A. in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University and an Ed.S. (Specialist) degree in Professional Counseling and Supervision from the University of West Georgia. I am licensed to provide professional counseling in the state of Georgia. I have 5 years of experience helping others with anxiety, depression, trauma and finding their voice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I created the Self Care Institute of Atlanta, I wanted to create an online space where I could facilitate the healing of adolescent girls and women, by focusing on the whole person. I’d had my own share of physical challenges, emotional baggage, and spiritual awakenings to realize that there wasn’t much of a boundary between these seemingly separate aspects of my own life, and I observed the same when working with others. When it comes to therapy, I believe that… There are no instant fixes. Therapy and the process of healing all wounds (physical, emotional, spiritual), is just that—a process. As long as there is progress, there is growth. I, Bianca, can’t heal you…but I can definitely walk alongside you as we uncover things that you might not have been aware of prior to therapy and give you the tools, practices, and support as you heal yourself. Mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and self care can be applied in each area to support optimal health and wellness.
