My Background and Approach
I obtained my master’s degree in mental health counseling, worked for a couple of years and then went on to get my doctorate in clinical psychology. Along the way I moved states, provided psychological services in various settings, got married, and had a baby. With each bump and life curve; I have leaned into my training. Searching for empirically proven tools and research that has helped me manage my own challenging emotions. All that means, is that when we work together, our sessions are grounded in sound training and empathy. I believe in self-compassion (i.e. something I am learning for myself) as we are often so critical of self. If the focus is on things not being done then you are not noticing all that is. In your self-criticism... the work YOU have done, the professional YOU have become, the amazing parent that YOU are.. get lost. Let me help you find the amazing YOU.
