About My Clients

My Background and Approach
Therapy sessions with me are person centered, meaning that I believe that you are the expert on you. I utilize CBT, DBT, EMDR, and various modalities when appropriate, in order to customize the approach that I use with each individual client. My desire is to walk through your healing process with you, as a guide in identifying your strengths and resilience. This is a supervised private practice. It is owned and/or managed by a master’s level, non-independent licensee under Board-approved clinical supervision pursuant to A.A.C. R4-6-211. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I created Thriving Lotus Counseling because I know what it feels like to feel alone, to struggle with knowing if you’re enough, and not understanding why you continue the patterns that are no longer serving you. One of my favorite parts of therapy is to help my clients discover their underlying pain, learned behaviors, and coping mechanisms that used to help them survive, but are no longer helpful. In discovering how trauma, betrayal, and painful experiences have impacted you, we are also able to help you discover their beautiful and strong parts of you as well. It can feel intimidating and scary to talk about these things, but my goal is to provide you with a safe and supportive space to share and explore in a way that is empowering for you. I’d appreciate the privilege of walking through your journey with you.
