About My Clients
Do you ever feel like anxiety is always in the background, like it could spike at any moment, even when things seem okay?I understand how overwhelming that can be. Anxiety doesn’t just live in your thoughts—it lives in your nervous system. It shows up as a racing heart, tight chest, shallow breathing, restlessness, irritability, or the urge to escape. For many people, especially those with trauma histories, high stress, or recovery backgrounds, these reactions aren’t random they’re survival skill
My Background and Approach
At Beyond the Session Counseling, I support individuals in navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity concerns, and stress by exploring the emotional, physical, relational, and environmental factors that shape well-being. My approach is holistic and collaborative, recognizing that mental health is influenced by the roles we carry, the expectations we face, and the systems we move through every day. Together, we work to build insight, practical skills, and sustainable change. I want clients to feel safe, understood, and respected from the very first session. Therapy should be a space where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or have everything figured out. My goal is for clients to feel supported in being honest , even about the parts of themselves they feel unsure or conflicted about.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people are not broken—they are responding exactly as their nervous systems learned to in order to survive. Anxiety, substance use, emotional reactivity, and shutdown aren’t personal failures; they’re adaptive responses to stress, trauma, and unmet needs. I believe recovery and growth are not linear. Progress includes setbacks, and those moments don’t erase the work already done. Compassion, not shame, is what sustains change.I believe in meeting people where they are while still holding space for who they’re becoming. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, values, and capacity for resilience. And above all, I believe that healing is possible. With the right support, education, and tools, people can move out of survival mode and into lives that feel more grounded, connected, and aligned.
