About My Clients
Life happens. Everything is running smoothly in our lives and then something throws us off balance: a relationship breakup, the death of a loved one, or a trauma. It can also be the buildup of stress or a wound from our past from which we have difficulty healing. We can work together to lessen the experience of unpleasant feelings and to better understand what you are going through. It is my goal that you feel more empowered so that you can live a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My Background and Approach
I create a warm, welcoming, and safe atmosphere for you to share your story, and I listen with empathy and an open mind and heart. I am attuned to how you view yourself and the world and how this impacts your self-worth, behavior, and interpersonal relationships. I'll be your cheerleader and advocate and will also gently challenge you and offer different perspectives. As we get to know each other better and you start to feel more comfortable, you'll see that you can be more of yourself. As a result, you can be emotionally vulnerable, honest, and curious about yourself. You'll discover your strengths, learn tools to navigate life, and hopefully have several "a-ha" moments. I'll laugh with you and cry with you as you experience the ups and downs of life. I would be honored to participate in and bear witness to your personal growth in the work we'll do together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a cis, second generation Filipina-American who was raised in the SF Bay Area, and I've been in private practice for 15+ years. I'm keenly aware of the destructive hustle that living and working in Silicon Valley can have on mental health. I'm the only one in my nuclear family who was born in the U.S., so I understand the generational differences that can exist with immigrant parents and family members. I'm forever a 49ers fan (#fttb) and I believe 90s hip hop and rap is the best music out there.
