My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Betty believes that mental health care is not about 'fixing' someone, but about empowering them to understand and harness their inner strengths, guiding them towards self-discovery and and personal growth while providing them with the necessary tools to navigate life's challenges. Betty Yu, PMHNP, understands firsthand the struggles that come with living with undiagnosed and untreated mental health disorders. As a child, she grappled with ADHD and anxiety, which caused significant challenges in her life. It was not until she sought treatment that she was able to gain control over her symptoms and improve her quality of life. Her personal journey with these disorders has shaped her approach to mental health care. She knows that while her diagnoses won't disappear, they do not define her. Instead, she has learned to accept these aspects of herself, and has developed strategies to manage her symptoms effectively.
