About My Clients

Hardship and difficult life experiences can be disorienting, overwhelming, and isolating. For adults and , it may be hard to build and maintain relationships, feel secure, and express yourself. For kiddos and teens, life can be confusing, anxious, dark, and frustrating. I work with all ages and my priority will be to ensure you feel safe in our relationship, increase your understanding of your experiences, develop skill and resources to manage stress, heal trauma, and even have a little fun!

My Background and Approach

For the past eight years, I have been committed to understanding the mystery and beauty of human connection. By getting curious about the connection between mind and body and what makes us who we are, we can find a way back to ourselves. I specialize in trauma, addiction, dissociation, and attachment wounds. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, and Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC in Michigan). Additionally, I am Level 1 trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Each of these approaches offer ways to increase self-awareness, harness the ability to regulate emotions, and support with healing from the inside out. As a clinical social worker, I also prioritize social justice in session by offering a space to process both the lived and passed down experiences of individual, familial, and systemic oppression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It is essential that I show up first as a human and then as a therapist. I would be fooling myself and my clients if I thought it possible to ignore my humanity in my work and unfair to hope for others authenticity if mine is hidden. I am a queer woman in a straight passing relationship. I am neurodivergent. I am White bodied and a United States citizen. I live in a petite and thin body. I am closely familiar with anxiety and a survivor of childhood trauma. I acknowledge that I hold various positions of power and privilege as well as experiences of pain and suffering which impact the relationships I build with clients. Anti-racism and decolonization is highly valued in my life; it's important to acknowledge that the foundations of traditional western psychotherapy and "somatic therapy" are rooted in the teachings of Gautama Buddha and indigenous practices.
