About My Clients
My clients come from all different backgrounds with a common theme of wanting to be heard and acknowledged in their current relationships. Many of my clients find me after recovering from spiritual trauma or after making the decision to leave their church. Others find me after experiencing a traumatic event. I help my clients uncover where their critical beliefs about themselves are linked to and we work together to have understanding, acceptance and self compassion.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelors in Sociology from San Diego State University in 2000 and my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2004. Currently, I am an adjunct psychology professor at a local community college. I am EMDR and Brainspotting certified. I find the connection between therapist and client to be essential. I am LGBTQ affirming and an inclusive therapist. I am a Health at Every Size affirming therapist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I volunteer through a program that offers up to 6 probono EMDR sessions to members of the community with acute trauma. I enjoy mentoring new therapists and students interested in the mental health field.
