Anxiety can cause people to avoid situations and opportunities they do not want to miss. Using cognitive behavioral therapy to address the negative thoughts that cause anxiety and mindfulness techniques can help address the roadblocks anxiety causes. I have several years of experience supporting clients with general anxiety, social anxiety, and hoarding.

Depression is so much more than feeling down or sad. Depression can feel like a fog; it impacts the ability to motivate, influences sleep, changes appetite, and so much more. However, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help address the symptoms of depression. For several years, I have supported adults and adolescents in decreasing their depression symptoms and reframing negative self-talk.

Family conflict is a stressor that impacts all aspects of life. For most of my career, I worked as a Multisystemic family therapist, establishing my skills in addressing family conflict, crisis management, and comprehensive support. My approach to addressing family conflict uses strategic and structural family therapy interventions.

Families are complex, with a history that impacts the current functioning of the family unit. Family systems is an approach that considers that many factors cause challenges in a family unit. We will reflect on what drivers cause family conflict and develop interventions together to address them.

Cognitive behavior therapy is intervention research that supports addressing many mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety. This therapy focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and actions impact each other. As a therapist, I appreciate CBT because it shows the power of thinking and how reframing thoughts or changing your viewpoint can positively alter your feelings and behaviors.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy focuses on accepting experiences but also accepting oneself. This is achieved and maintained through mindfulness exercises and reflection on your core values. I appreciate this therapy method because shame and guilt often hinder achieving goals, and ACT helps address these barriers.

Families are complex, with a rich history that informs current interactions. Moreover, family systems understand that many factors impact challenges or conflict in a family unit. Together we will identify the drivers that cause negative sequences and develop interventions to change family interaction cycles.
