About My Clients
As a clinical social work intern, I am excited to use my skills and experience working with teenagers to adults to foster resilience and positive self-image, process life challenges and previous traumatic experiences, as well as examine interpersonal relationships.
My Background and Approach
Over the past eight years, I have dedicated myself to working in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault with a diverse community, providing bilingual services in both English and Spanish. This role has provided me with the opportunity to engage with a wide range of individuals who have undergone trauma and are currently in the process of navigating their recovery journey. I have played a crucial part in empowering survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, instilling hope and motivation through safety planning and crisis intervention. In addition, I have worked closely with clients to help them develop and strengthen healthy coping mechanisms and interpersonal skills. My approach has always taken into account the impact of trauma, ensuring that my interventions and advocacy efforts are informed by a deep understanding of the complexities involved in such situations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a first-generation Mexican American woman and I use she/her pronouns. I am bilingual and fluent in both Spanish and English. Being part of an immigrant family has shaped my worldview and led me to pursue a master's degree in social work, and I am currently in my last year. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to advocating for women and children impacted by various forms of violence, including domestic violence, intimate partner violence, family violence, and sexual assault. My approach is deeply rooted in my clients' needs. I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance to provide support and empowerment tailored to each individual's journey. My ultimate goal is facilitating impactful and lasting change, empowering those I work with to reach their objectives.
