About My Clients
Have you lost touch with what used to matter to you? Perhaps your former goals have lost their luster or the attainment of these has proven disappointing. Maybe your prayers go unanswered or it seems there is no one even listening. Can you find your way back to an enjoyable life—toward one worth living? I hope to help you to address these questions and worries with curiosity, compassion and reflection.
My Background and Approach
My approach consists neither of worksheets, tools and coping techniques, nor of sitting back and nodding or simply validating your concerns. While some of this may come in to play from time to time, my approach consists mainly of engaged and thoughtful conversation in which old problems can be seen from new perspectives and new meaning can be made of our lives. With degrees in the arts, in religious studies, and in marriage and family therapy I have a deep capacity for listening for creative solutions, new "readings" of old stories, the impacts of normative cultural values and unexplored spaces for change. I’m ready to partner with you in the heavy lifting often required to make significant and lasting change. I care deeply about questions of meaning, direction and purpose and I’m passionate about accompanying others as they struggle toward answers. I have been graced by the stories of the many individuals I’ve worked with and hope to hear yours as well.
