The people I work with are usually adults of all backgrounds. My clients are curious about creating a new compassion first vantage point towards their self, but may struggle understanding how to manifest that.
My approach is rooted in compassion focused IFS techniques, while incorporating aspects of mindfulness based CBT. My style also draws on works of Gabor Mate, Tara Brach and Alice Miller.
Other Issues
IFS has been a great tool for clients to help see aspects of self from a new vantage point. I notice that some clients are able to view perviously perceived problematic aspects of self in a less antagonistic way that helps ultimately to allow those behaviors to soften.
