What would it be like if you woke up tomorrow and everything was better? As a therapist, I love to help my clients imagine that answer.
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Alabama
I have worked for over a year with adolescents and families with an ODD diagnosis. Behavioral interventions, parent-child interaction therapy, and parenting classes are some of what I provide for my clients.
Depression is a common mental health issue and range from mild to severe. Seeking help does not show weakness but shows strength. In therapy, I assist my clients in identifying the reason they are depressed. Then, evaluate previous coping skills while introducing new coping skills. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) maybe used in session. CBT is helpful in identifying negative thinking and replacing it with a positive way of thinking.
We all may struggle with anxiety from time-to-time. When it interferes with daily living/functioning, it is wise to seek out help. I assist my clients in identifying their triggers and learning coping skills that would be useful in/out of therapy.
Eclectic therapy is integrative and adapts to the client's needs. It depends on the client's presenting problem, the treatment goals, the clients' motivation, and expectations.
