About My Clients
I have a natural ability to help people identify their feelings, and a calming, interactive approach to therapy. I will provide the tools for you to help cope with the changes that everyday life brings. I have experience working with abused clients (children & adults) suffering from trauma, particularly around domestic violence, and intergenerational trauma. Other specialties are families with incarcerated loved ones, single parents, geriatric issues, and grief.
My Background and Approach
I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I use humor, compassion, and empowerment to encourage engagement. I am comfortable talking abut taboo topics. I will offer you nonjudgmental acceptance while guiding you towards change. I know that depression, life changes, and mental health issues can make you feel all alone. Together we will make progress in a limited number of sessions. The first step is reaching out to someone and asking for help. Please call.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the expert of your own life. My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief of impermanence, human suffering, and the power of hope & kindness. I believe in the Black Lives Matter movement, and I participate in peaceful protests. I am also an ally to the LGBTQIA community.
