About My Clients
My clients are brave! They are not afraid to face their problems and are pursuing change in their life. My clients come from all backgrounds and with all kinds of reasons for seeking counseling. I definitely work a lot with couples but see individuals too. Some of my clients seek me out because of my biracial background since I am both Hispanic and Caucasian.
My Background and Approach
My education was different from that of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The Marriage & Family Therapy major requires counseling courses with more focus on couples and families. I, of course, do therapy with individuals but when I treat them I see them as part of a system, not as an isolated individual. I believe wellness is the result when we treat the whole person: body, mind and spirit. I also believe in telling clients the truth. I believe they want change and if I'm afraid to talk about my observations for fear of hurting or offending them I rob them of the chance to find that change. I speak truthfully but with sensitivity. I offer teletherapy for those who cannot or do not want in person therapy!
