About My Clients
My clients come to me with many differing struggles that they experience. I have mostly worked with clients with anxiety and depression in moving forward in their life, while learning coping strategies to aid them when they leave counseling. I work to build self-awareness, self-advocacy, and self-compassion with clients to help them work through their struggles.
My Background and Approach
I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Counseling from Capella University. I have experience working with many populations and modalities of therapy. There is not one size fits in counseling. I have experience working with clients ranging from 10-65+. Clients I have served and continue to serve come to me for help with grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, complex trauma, life transitions, adjustment disorders, and more. I use an integrative approach to help meet client needs and goals within the therapeutic environment. I have experience using therapeutic modalities such as Psychodynamic, CBT, REBT, Trauma Informed, Solution Focused, and Realistic Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the therapeutic environment should be safe for anyone who deems they are in need of help. I am very open minded with my clients and work to understand their struggles in in their point of view. I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space for my clients to be able to speak freely. I learn so much from my clients and want to continue to help with their mental health as well as learning from them and their experiences.
