There are many reasons people begin psychotherapy. You may believe what you are experiencing isn’t serious enough or that you should be able to handle things yourself. The truth is that no reason is too small or unimportant for psychotherapy. We all experience times when we can use some extra support.
I work to build a strong relationship with each client, one that promotes trust, awareness, and understanding. To that end, I see counseling as a collaborative effort in which we are partners, without expectations or judgments, who talk with each other not at each other.
Although I utilize many theories and techniques, my approach is primarily based on two beliefs: 1) you are a unique and capable individual; and 2) how and what you think determines your beliefs, feelings, and actions. By utilizing complementary techniques we can work together to uncover your strengths while working to change the patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back.
