About My Clients

I provide individual counseling to adults and adolescents/teens. I specialize in complex-trauma with expertise in survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and sexual abuse. I have experience working with dissociative disorders.

My Background and Approach

I entered the Counseling Profession later in life after 13 years in the Banking Industry. I received my Masters in Counseling in 2009 from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education. I have a special interest in Trauma Recovery work and am a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and the International Society for the Study of Traumatic Stress. It is my belief that no client is found in a textbook or diagnostic label.. Each client is a unique combination of experiences, thoughts, feelings and beliefs. It is my desire to accompany my clients on their journey toward healing and understanding of their authentic selves. My counseling style is based in humanistic, feminist multicultural, psychodynamic, and existential orientations; however, I utilize other techniques (i.e. EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness skills) within sessions as appropriate.
