Your journey is unique and at times difficult, but one common desired destination for everyone is living with greater ease. The difficult and stressful events, often with a trauma imprint, shape your life and alter your preferred path. Even with your past hurt, you continue to move through life, hoping for better. Better starts by gaining greater clarity of your preferred path. Getting stuck happens. Getting unstuck moves you toward toward better.
My Background and Approach
Counseling is an awesome resource for anyone! By exploring what resonates with you and collaborating to create a custom set of skills to support your preferred path, positive change follows. Maybe you know what you don't want like relationship strife, feeling overly anxious, or feeling purposeless. I have various techniques to help you get unstuck. A few include talk therapy and skills building (CBT, DBT, REBT, TA, ACT, Gottman techniques, values work, existential) which can help you identify and modify unhelpful thoughts and processes, EMDR can positively shift emotions and treat phobias, and guided imagery and somatic awareness can reinforce positive associations. Clients report easily establishing a professional relationship with me. I have a direct approach. I might 'read your mind' emotionally and if helpful, suggest words to translate your feelings. I am supportive of your thoughts and feelings while encouraging you to move towards healthy beliefs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are always in relation; if not with self, then with others. To be in-relation is to engage internally through thoughts, beliefs, and feelings or externally with feelings and behavior. I believe in collective energy and our ability to positively influence the trajectory of humanity by raising our own vibes (potential). Seeing the limiting influence of fear in our life and working through negative energy raises our vibes and opens ways for us to discover our unique purpose (contribution) and really feel our potential. I believe we have learned to move through life in such a way that we lose site of our uniqueness and overlook our choices, possibly leaving us feeling empty, frustrated, or lacking purpose. I believe in your potential for 'better'!
