About My Clients
I have experience working with clients with a wide range of presenting issues, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, agoraphobia, career issues, relationship issues, life transitions, self-esteem, and parenting concerns. I have worked with adolescents and adults, couples, and families. Whatever you may be going through, we can work collaboratively to address it.
My Background and Approach
I like to work from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) lens. ACT helps clients build more meaningful life by changing their relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate pain or stress, which is often out of your control, I support clients in developing a more flexible mindset. Through mindfulness, self-compassion, and values-based work, clients can start to feel less stuck, more present, and more aligned with the life they want to live. With couples, I blend Gottman Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners better understand each other's emotional needs, improve communication, and better manage conflict. Together, we work on strengthening emotional connection, rebuilding trust, and developing practical tools to manage challenges in a healthier way so your relationship can feel more secure, connected, and fulfilling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my goal as a counselor to destigmatize mental health. I believe that every person can benefit from having a confidential space to learn more about themselves and the world around them. Counseling is a unique experience where you can reflect on the good, the bad, and everything in between with someone who is non-judgmental and validating. There is no perfect time to start counseling, I can meet you where you are. After learning about what anxiety was at a later age, I could look back and see that I have always had anxiety. Through my own counseling, I have been able to better manage my anxiety and I have felt the relief that counseling can offer. I believe that counseling is a collaborative process between the counselor and client, and that you are the expert on your life. My role as a counselor is to hear you, provide helpful tools and insight, and help you process what you may be going through. I love anything creative and if you do too, I would love to include that in session!
