About My Clients

You may be trying to change your relationship with substances while also carrying anxiety, conflict or questions about identity and masculinity. Perhaps you have learned to stay composed and handle everything alone, even when your relationships are asking for more openness. I work with adults and couples, including Black men, who want a direct, nonjudgmental place to build recovery, communicate more honestly and feel less divided from themselves.

My Background and Approach

My style is calm, gentle and honest. I draw from ACT, CBT, DBT, Gestalt, Gottman-informed work, mindfulness and psychodynamic therapy. We may look at what a substance or coping pattern has been doing for you, slow down a conflict between partners or examine the beliefs that make vulnerability feel unsafe. I offer practical tools alongside deeper exploration, keeping the work tied to your values and day-to-day choices. You will not be reduced to a diagnosis or a mistake; we will focus on responsibility, possibility and what helps change last.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My work is informed by lived experience of recovery and sobriety. I know strength is not the same as silence, and that asking for support can be especially complicated when masculinity, culture or spirituality has shaped what you were taught to carry alone. I believe therapy can hold accountability without shame and vulnerability without taking away dignity. Boxing, baking, reading and time with family keep me grounded.
